Exciting Few Weeks Ahead

It has been a busy last week and a bit - Doing full time hours at Marketforce while the manager has been away and trying to run a growing business at the same time. Good fun and games. Man, I am so looking forward to my next sleep in! Please come soon...

I absolutely loved photographing the Keshwar family a couple weekends ago, and was so pleased to find that they were stoked with the results. They took almost three hours to choose their photos last Sunday. Possibly the biggest compliment I could've had... Can't wait to deliver the finished, framed shots next week!

This weekend will be an interesting shoot. I am very much excited for this one... I was surprised to find no such image already on google. Yes, I know I am being fague. Deliberately so, so you'll just have to be patient and wait for me to upload said secret shot up next week. Ha! :)

Causeway Kawasaki, Ducati and Victory Motorcycles will be surprising their new clients with a gift certificate soon. Sssh... don't tell anyone! That's going to be a massive time filler. Can't wait to put some pretty big bikes on walls all over Perth!

Then more family photoshoots and kitten shoots and bike shoots and and and.

I love my job...

Facebook Shy of the Like?

Why is it so difficult to get people to "like" your page? I've read all the online help tips in various blogs and such, and after doing most of them, I have found that my Twitter followers list is the one that benefits. Why do people shy from the like?

Introducing me

Why hello there readers. I'm new to the blogging world, so not really sure where to start.

I am told the beginning is usually a good spot. All I really know about blogging is from the movies, you know, You've Got Mail and Julie and Julia etc.

So, the beginning.... Here's a brief history:

Well, my name is Chevy and I was born in South Africa. I moved to Perth, Western Australia about 5 years ago. I had job hopped around for a bit, until I was magically hired by an awesome advertising agency called Marketforce. I worked for them as an Electronic Artist/Mac Operator for 3 years and loved most of it. In this time, I learnt a world of Photoshop that has become second nature to me.

In January this year I bought a photography business called Diamonds & Rust Photography from a wonderful couple, Chase and Jaye. They have been amazingly supportive and loving. They're easily my second family. They remain my business advisors and mentors, and of course, my close friends.

I have since quit all casual jobs and am running Diamonds & Rust full time. A scary prospect, but a very exciting one too. I am thouroughly enjoying making Diamonds & Rust truly mine - my website is currently being reskinned and fabbed up by a the ever wonderful Debbie Taylor from Synchromesh over in Sydney. New business cards, new flyers, new website, new projects, new me. Yay!

Feel free to check out my old site (new one to come shortly) and become a liker on to see my most recent work.

And this is where I shall pause for now. Thanks for reading :)
